They chose the name Doers because it embodies the American immigrant story and their DIY philosophy. Their mission is to be the world’s best vodka that represents American pride and the heritage of Latino culture. Inspired by the traditional distillation methods used to make the finest tequilas, we hand-crafted our pot-stills and use 100% maiz to make our vodka. Family owned, Texas made, Salud!
The story of Doers started in 1983 when their founder Arianna Ixcaragua immigrated from her beloved Guatemala to the US at the age of 17. Alone and traveling by foot, she moved through mountains, crawled through scathing deserts, battled dangerous men and sickness while on this tremendous journey.
After surviving the perilous trek, the next hurdle was assimilating to a new culture in an alarmingly different world. Finding income as a non-English speaking Latina in the 80’s was difficult and the many bouts of starvation only fueled her desire for success.
One of her dreams was to have a family of her own and after meeting her husband this soon became a reality. The family became the pillars of strength and the foundation of Doers Vodka. She wanted to be an example of strength and endurance for not only her children but everyone who has been in her shoes. As her kids grew into adults, they all wanted to help make her dreams a reality. We chose the name Doers because it embodies the American immigrant story and our DIY philosophy.
